Callers are invited to share their successes in time away from the behaviors they are working on in recovery.

General Introductions

Callers are encouraged to identify themselves by their first name and the location from which they are calling. Members who acknowledge they are sex addicts will say something like, “Hi, I’m Bob. I’m a sex addict calling from San Francisco.” Guests or newcomers are invited to introduce themselves by their first name, location and they are new to the meeting so we can get to know you better

At this meeting, we welcome topics and readings. We read from a variety of literature. For instance, we may read from AA Big Book, SAA Green Book, Hope and Recovery, 12 Steps and 12 Traditions, Answers in the Heart, Outer Circle, Tools of Recovery, and other SAA pamphlets. We also welcome First Step presentations on the last Sunday of the Month.

As we occasionally enhance the chosen topic with appropriate, Sunday Night GLBT Group or SAA-approved literature or stories, once the topic for discussion has been determined, the secretary/moderator or a participant aware of a topic-enhancing reading might recommend a helpful reading that improves on the topic. For instance, a member might introduce the topic, Projection. An appropriate reading might be "One Day at a Time" from the chapter "Slogans" from the book, Hope and Recovery." 

Keeping this in mind, does anyone have a topic for tonight or is anyone struggling with something recovery related that they would like experience, strength and hope around?

The meeting is now open for discussion. You may comment on the material that was just read, or you may check-in about how you have been doing recently. Please no crosstalk, which is directly commenting on another's share. SAA is not group therapy. Please share your experience, strength and hope, not your opinions, attitudes or advice. Let's keep the focus on the solution, not the problem. This is to ensure a safe place for all. I will help moderate the meeting. Who would like to begin?

As a gentle reminder for all of us, anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions. What you heard was spoken in confidence and should be treated as confidential. Please keep the things you heard in the confines of your mind.

7th Tradition

It's time for the 7th Tradition, which states that every SAA group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.

We have no dues or fees, but contributions can be mailed or phoned to our International Service Organization (ISO). You can earmark these for GLBT activities if you wish. To make a donation, follow the 7th Tradition link at the ISO website, mail, or phone them as follows:
