TUESDAY WOMEN’S NEWCOMER TELEMEETING

Revised April 2011

Good Evening and welcome to the Tuesday Newcomers Meeting!  This is a closed women’s only telemeeting of Sex Addicts Anonymous.   If you have a desire to stop your addictive sexual behavior you are in the right place. My name is _______ I am a sex addict and your trusted servant for this evening.

May we have a moment of silence for the addicts in and out of these rooms who still suffer, followed by the Serenity Prayer.

Who would like to read THE INTRODUCTION, pgs. 1 & 2 of the SAA green book?

Would someone like to read OUR PROGRAM, pgs 20-22 from the SAA green book?

May we hear THE TWELVE TRADITIONS, pg. 77 from the SAA green book?

Now is the time that we celebrate milestones in sobriety.  Does anyone have 30 days?  60 days?  90 days?  6 months?  9 months?  1 year? 18 months? Multiples of years? How about 24 hours?

Now let’s go around for introductions.  It is the custom of this group for members to share their first name only, how you’re feeling, and your current length of sobriety from your inner circle behaviors. If this is your first time at this meeting, please let us know so we may welcome you.

My name is _______, I’m a sex addict, I feel _____, and I have ___ days/months/years of sobriety from my inner circle behaviors.

In regards to literature: At this meeting we use only SAA literature. Some literature can be read online at saa-recovery.org. The literature we are using for this meeting can be obtained from the ISO of SAA, P.O. Box 70949, Houston, TX USA 77270 or by phone: 1-800-477-8191 or via the internet: www.saa-recovery.org.

Regarding sponsorship: We, as a group, believe that completing step work with a sponsor is an integral part of gaining and maintaining sexual sobriety.  If you do not have a sponsor, or have questions about what a sponsor is, this meeting is a good time to ask.

Regarding phone numbers: The phone can be an important tool during recovery.  Everyone is encouraged to get phone numbers of individuals whose shares they relate to, to use as part of a support system. This is done after the meeting.  Please be sensitive when using the phone and understand that sharing your phone number is completely voluntary. To obtain a copy of a list of women contacts and to be added to that list please send an email to

grace@saa-women.org.

This is a newcomers meeting of Sex Addicts Anonymous.  A newcomer is anyone with less than 30 days of abstinence or is new to the SAA program.  This meeting is designed for you to ask questions about getting started in SAA, such as: What are the three circles?  What is a sponsor? What does abstinence mean? Just to name a few topics.  Newcomers are the most important people in the meeting.  Sex addicts are ordinary people who have one thing in common: we have used our sex addiction like a drug and that drug has made our lives progressively more unmanageable. In recovery, we have been able to experience feelings of hope,  self-esteem, fellowship, and acceptance. We have experienced being listened to without being shamed.  We are learning how to work the Twelve Steps and we work on building healthy relationships with the help of others in the program.  The other members are here to answer your questions and offer you their experience, strength and hope in SAA.  This meeting is a question and answer meeting, not a check-in meeting.

Now is the time for newcomers to ask questions about getting started in SAA.  Do any newcomers have questions? (remember, a newcomer is anyone with less than 30 days of abstinence or who is new to the SAA program)

Trusted servant only -- If you run out of questions then read a newcomer topic from a pamphlet or the green book… such as “the bubble” or “abstinence” or “tools of recovery” etc. Remember we use only SAA approved literature.

Since there are no more questions I would like to read page_____ from _______.  Who would like to comment on what I just read?

It’s now time for the 7th tradition, which states that “every SAA group ought to be fully self supporting, declining outside contributions.”  We have no dues or fees, but our International Service Organization (ISO) does have expenses.  Contributions can be mailed to:  ISO of SAA, P.O. Box 70949, Houston, TX USA 77270 or by phone:  1-800-477-8191 or via the Internet: www.saa-recovery.org

Phone number and pass code – It is the group conscience of this meeting that you help us all feel safe.  We are a closed women’s only telemeeting of SAA.  In order to access this meeting new members are required to speak to one of our meeting contacts.  Our meeting contacts information can be found at www.saa-recovery.org.  Please do not give out this phone number and pass code to any one.

Our business meeting is held on the third Tuesday of the month after the regular meeting. Announce the meeting if it is tonight.

Are there any SAA-related announcements?

Would someone please read How We Live, which can be found in the green book page 61 paragraphs 1 and 2?

In closing, please help us all move from shame to grace and join us in THE UNITY PRAYER, pg. 45 from the booklet, Tools of Recovery.

The meeting is now open to share phone numbers.  My name is ____ and my phone number is_____.

Meeting is now open for fellowship
